Rescue crews were called out to Vancouver’s North Shore on Sunday night to recover the body of a man who fell into Lynn Creek.
The man in his 20s was hiking when he slipped and fell into the creek near Norvan Falls.
North Shore Rescue and a paramedic pulled the man out of the water and tried to revive him but they were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, a short distance away at Crown Mountain, two other hikers needed rescuing.
They were unprepared for the near zero degree temperatures and snow.
Fortunately, a helicopter was able to reach them.
Rescuers say both stories serve as a reminder to exercise caution and be prepared when hiking.
