A major fire broke out just after midnight Saturday on Royal Oak Grove Northwest.
Two homes were completely destroyed as 15 others were evacuated due to heavy smoke in the area.

Calgary Fire Department Acting North District Chief Mike Van Tetering said all of the occupants were able to escape safely.
“There was a large amount of flame, but luckily the people were able to get out of their homes safely,” he explained.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
