MONTREAL – Four people are in custody after officers with Montreal’s organized crime unit intercepted a vehicle on Giroux Street near Béique Street in Lasalle shortly after midnight Saturday.
The car was being trailed by police on suspicion that there were possible firearms in the vehicle. The intervention was considered high risk and the Eclipse special task force was called in to assist.
A firearm was seized and two suspects, a 35-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, were arrested.
Police then drove to a residence on Paquette Street also near Béique Street and arrested a 24-year-old man and 34-year-old woman.
Montreal police spokesman Manuel Couture said officers were waiting for a warrant to search the premises.
The investigation continues.
