A grief-stricken mother is speaking out today, saying her son killed himself just one hour after being released from Burnaby Hospital.
Kim Young took her son Edward to the hospital on Monday due to fears about his mental health.
She claims staff agreed to contact her when he was being released so she could pick him up. But Tuesday, despite several phone calls, he was apparently released without warning.
Young says the hospital gave him a bus ticket and he died less than an hour later.

His body was found at the Commercial SkyTrain Station.
“How dare you take my son from me,” said Young. “How dare you. I love my son with all my heart. How dare you give him a bus ticket to commit suicide when you knew full well that he was sick. That he was mentally broken, physically broken.”
Fraser Health says they are looking into the incident and will be providing a comment later today.
Family and friends of Edward and Kim have organized a candlelight vigil for Monday, May 9. Details can be found on this Facebook page.
