Letters are being sent out to parents of children attending Toronto public and Catholic schools warning them of a possible bus strike which could impact up to 4,000 students.

The union representing Stock Transportation (North Division) told the boards its drivers have been in a legal strike position as of Wednesday.

“In some cases, it would affect both pick up and drop off and in other cases it would affect just one of those,” said TDSB spokesman Ryan Bird in an email.

“All parents of children that would be impacted are being contacted directly.”

Although labour action has yet to be taken, the two boards are advising parents to be on the lookout for possible disruptions. The Toronto District School Board said any strike action will be given advance notice.
