A 43-year-old man is dead following an officer involved shooting northeast of Vegreville.
Police were called to a residence 5pm Wednesday for a ‘trouble with person’ call. The man was reported to be armed and was believed to be with three adult family members at the scene.
The RCMP Emergency response team was called in, but before they arrived, one shot was fired by RCMP.

Emergency medical services at the location provided life-saving efforts, but the man was declared deceased on scene. A shotgun was recovered at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.
The man died at the scene. A shot gun was recovered.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) is now in charge of the investigation. ASIRT investigators are on scene and will conduct an independent, objective and thorough investigation into this event and the actions of the officers.
