The case of a man charged in the death of a popular Halifax yoga instructor was back in court Wednesday.

Nicholas Jordan Butcher is facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Kristin Johnston.

Her body was found at a Halifax-area home on March 26th and police said the pair were in a “domestic relationship” at the time.

Butcher was arrested the same day and rushed to hospital for treatment of injuries described as significant, but not life-threatening.

Police had to wait until Butcher was released from hospital before they could interview him.

Johnston opened a Bikram yoga studio in Halifax after moving to the city from Montreal.

Nicholas Butcher’s lawyer requested another month to review the high volume of evidence collected by the crown and the Halifax Regional Police.
