A man received minor injuries after he was assaulted and robbed in his northern Saskatchewan home. Meadow Lake RCMP were called to the home on the Flying Dust First Nation just after 10 p.m. CT Thursday.

A 78-year-old man told Mounties three people armed with guns came into his house, assaulted him and then took off with some of his property.

He received minor injuries and was treated at Meadow Lake Hospital and released.

A vehicle believed to have been used was identified and sent to surrounding police detachments. Officers with Prince Albert Police Service arrested two people, a 21-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man. Police say both are from Prince Albert but have connections to Meadow Lake.

Charges are pending. A court date has not been set.
