Benedict Cumberbatch has played a dragon, Sherlock Holmes, and editor-in-chief of Wikileaks Julian Assange. It’s about time he played a superhero, too.
In Doctor Strange, the latest superhero movie to whet our nerdy appetites, an accident costs world-famous surgeon Dr. Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch) his career — or at least he believes it’s over.
Naturally, it’s not, and the good doctor ends up going on a journey to learn the mystic arts from the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) in order to become Marvel‘s Sorcerer Supreme.
This first trailer for Doctor Strange has the same mind-bending cinematography as surreal movie Inception, with entire cities folding into themselves.
Canadian Rachel McAdams co-stars as a fellow surgeon and Mads Mikkelsen is playing the powerful villain that Dr. Strange must defeat.
‘Doctor Strange’ opens in theatres on Nov. 4.
