The school bus was parked at the time of the crash. Upon arrival, paramedics found the car, a Honda Fit, wedged under the rear bumper of the bus.

According to Staff Sgt. Paul Stacey, it doesn’t appear as though the vehicle tried to slow down before it collided with the bus.

The victim, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was declared deceased at the scene.

Calgary police are investigating what led to the collision.
