17-year-old Calgary girl victim of Dunbow Road fatal crash

CALGARY – RCMP say the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal rollover on Dunbow Road on Monday was a 17-year-old Calgary girl.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Dunbow Road (Township Road 220) and 80 Street S.E., just east of the Carnmoney Golf and Country Club, at around 8 a.m.

When they arrived, paramedics found an SUV with substantial damage.

RCMP said Tuesday it appeared the driver, a 17-year-old Calgary girl, had been travelling east on Dunbow Road when she lost control. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in a nearby field.

The teen was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP said her next of kin have been notified.
