The prosecution finished presenting evidence Monday in the trial of three people accused of the first-degree murder of Calgary father Ryan Lane.
The jury was told to take several days off to allow time for the defence teams to make motions in front of the judge alone. Global News is not allowed to report on the content of the motions.

The jury will be brought back Friday, when it will be up to the three defence teams to present any evidence.
The trial is in its fourth week.

Sheena Cuthill, her husband Tim Rempel and his brother Will Rempel are all accused of the first-degree murder of Lane.
The 24-year-old man disappeared in February 2012.
An extensive search eventually led to the discovery of charred remains in a barrel in a gravel pit near Beiseker.
