Rescuers have begun cleaning up the pileup that has killed at least two people and injured over 30 on a busy highway in Changzhou City, east China’s Jiangsu Province.
The accident happened on a highway from Nanjing to Shanghai and stormy weather is suspected to have caused the accident.
Over 20 trucks, buses and cars crashed into each other, causing mayhem on the first day of a three-day national holiday marking China’s traditional memorial day of Qingming, or Tomb-Sweeping Day.
According to rescuers, the vehicles that were the most severely damaged from the pileup will not be removed until late Saturday night.
Traffic has partially resumed on the highway.
