CALGARY – It’s a big week in Calgary as the city gets ready to host the JUNO Awards.
Starting Monday, the city will be full of festivities leading up to the biggest night in Canadian music.
A JUNO hub will be set up in a store-front space at the CORE, displaying Canada’s music history.
To get a sneak peak of the new National Music Centre, Burton Cummings will be the first inductee to place their name plaque on the wall of the new home for Canada’s Music Hall of Fame on Friday.
Throughout JUNOfest there will be pop-up concerts, autograph signings, an indigenous showcase featuring Buffy Sainte-Marie and more.
Sunday’s JUNO Awards will take place and be broadcast live from the Scotiabank Saddledome starting at 5 p.m. and will be hosted by eight-time JUNO Award winner Jann Arden and The Amazing Race Canada host Jon Montgomery.
Musical performances include: Alessia Cara, Bryan Adams, Coleman Hell, Dean Brody, Dear Rouge, Scott Helman, Shawn Hook, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd and Whitehorse
The JUNOS were last hosted by Calgary in 2008.
