“The two men, aged 25 and 26, are in for questioning,” confirmed Abdullah Emran with Montreal police.

“We are waiting to see if there will be charges laid.”

Around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a call that was placed about possible gunshots.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from wounds to his upper body.

He was sitting behind the wheel of his Co-Op taxi.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

It’s Montreal’s first murder of 2016.

“We were canvassing door-to-door and investigators were working hard,” said Emran.

The interrogation of the suspects is ongoing.
