Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of blaze that displaced a number of residents and evacuated an apartment building early Friday morning.
Halifax Fire was called to the building on Lacewood Drive at 3:30 a.m.
“Flames were showing from the second floor extending to the third floor,” said acting Division Commander Vince Conrad.
The fire was contained to two units. Both of those units were extensively damaged by fire and the tenants were not able to return.
A number of other residents were evacuated while crews quickly put out the fire. Those residents were eventually allowed to return to their apartments.
EMO services were on scene providing assistance.
Halifax Fire say a fire fighter suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
