They raised a lot of money, but not as much as they’d hoped.

The United Way of Central and South Okanagan/Similkameen has officially closed its fundraising campaign.

The final tally is $1,253,257, which is 84 per cent of the target of $1.5 million.

“Our volunteer impact teams will now go to work evaluating agency applications and determining the best, sustainable investments for these funds,” says Shelley Gilmore, Executive Director of the United Way branch.

Community Celebrations will be held on May 4 in the South Okanagan and on May 19 in the Central Okanagan.
