Lethbridge College has chosen this year’s recipient of the Troy Reeb Internship for its Digital Communications and Media Program.

Meagan Williams, a second-year Digital Communications and Media student, will work alongside the best in the business as she journeys to Toronto and Ottawa for ten days in April.

Troy Reeb, a 1988 Broadcast Journalism alumnus, is Shaw Media’s Senior Vice President, Global News and Station Operations.

“Meagan’s unbridled passion and enthusiasm for journalism makes her an outstanding candidate for this prestigious internship,” says Reeb. “We look forward to unleashing her on the streets of Toronto and Parliament Hill while starting her down the road to success.”

“I’m so thankful for the opportunity to work in the industry with the very best and can’t wait to learn everything I can,” says Williams. “It’s a credit to Lethbridge College that the institution has such a great relationship with its alumni so opportunities like this are made possible for its students. Troy does so much for the future of journalism with this internship and I’m so lucky to be a part of it.”

Williams was born in Brisbane, Australia, and moved to Canada in 2009 “on a whim after wanting to experience more in life.” She moved to Lethbridge in 2010 and pursued the Digital Communications and Media program because she loves storytelling and feels it is a privilege to do so.

Williams is the eleventh Lethbridge College student to take advantage of this unique internship opportunity. Past winners include Taylor Oseen, who now works at CTV Lethbridge, and Quinn Ohler, who now works at Global Edmonton.
