Spokesman John Schut says the man was part of a group of snowmobilers.

He says three avalanche technicians were deployed to the site after the incident.

This is the second death in the region in as many weeks after crews recovered the body of a 34-year-old man on a solo backcountry trip in an avalanche zone near Sicamous, B.C., last Tuesday.

Schut says people need to be wary about dangerous avalanche conditions.
