A month away from the premiere of Game of Thrones’ sixth season, cast members banded to together to promote a new partnership between HBO and the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
HBO is using the show’s wide reach to ask fans to donate to the IRC to help refugees from conflict zones in the Middle East.
“Every month, hundreds of thousands of people flee their homes,” said Liam Cunningham who plays rehabilitated smuggler-turned-knight Davos Seaworth.
Lena Headey, known for her role as the manipulative and petty Queen Cersei Lannister, makes the most earnest plea to help Middle Eastern refugees.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie “Kingslayer” Lannister), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) appear in the video alongside those who play the most sinister characters on the show, like Iwan Rheon who plays psychotic Ramsay Snow Bolton.
The Game of Thrones cast asks their fans to “rise up” and visit Rescue.org to donate money to help Middle Eastern refugees.
