City of Regina announces resignation of Chief Financial Officer Ed Archer

REGINA – The City of Regina’s Chief Financial Officer, Ed Archer, has resigned to become the new City Administrative Officer in Greater Sudbury, Ont.

City Manager Chris Holden made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Archer, a graduate of Lakehead University. has been in his position for two years. During that time, he developed the city’s first long-range financial plan.

Archer also worked on the city’s budget, financial policies, and a national benchmarking initiative. He was the interim City Manager from October 2015 to March 2016.

“I am pleased to have had the opportunity and privilege to work with Ed during this transitional phase and am confident that he will continue to be successful in his new role,” Holden said.

Prior to his role in Regina, Archer was the general manager of community and corporate services in the City of Barrie.

Archer’s last day is May 13.
