An employee and customer were restraining the woman and were able to take the knife away from her.
Just a few minutes later, officers arrived on scene and arrested the woman.
They have since charged 26-year-old Stephanie Kathryn Larden, a resident of Halifax, with several charges including robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of recognizance.
Police say she’s also facing other charges including theft and possession under $5,000 in relation to a precious incident.
Larden is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Wednesday.
