Energy East pipeline
The province of Quebec has gone on the offensive, going to court to get the company in charge of a major pipeline project to play by their rules and respect the province’s regulations.
On Tuesday, the Quebec government said it plans to seek an injunction to ensure the Energy East pipeline project is subject to the province’s environmental regulations.
The news had many viewers sounding off on Global Montreal’s Facebook page.
TransCanada spokesperson Tim Duboyce joins Global’s Elysia Bryan-Baynes to talk about the project and discuss Quebec’s challenge of Energy East.
Artistri Sud
Artistri Sud is a Montreal-based non-profit organization which works to support women’s empowerment around the world.
Launched in 2009, Artistri Sud helps equip women from Asia, Africa and Latin America to earn a living for themselves.
These women are among the poorest in the world, and the income they create from their handicrafts or farming is essential to support their families.
Artistri Sud’s founder, Jennifer Lonergan, who has a PhD in women’s history and is a buyer for fair trade and ethical retail markets in North America, sat down with Elysia Bryan-Baynes to talk about her vocation.
