REGINA – A 30-year-old Regina woman is facing charges after allegedly smoking in an airplane bathroom and refusing to secure her pet.

On January 6th a flight from Toronto to Regina, the flight crew asked that police attend to deal with an unruly passenger.

It is alleged that the female passenger on the flight failed to follow repeated instructions by the cabin crew and refused to secure her pet in its kennel. She also allegedly locked herself in the washroom on the flight and smoked a cigarette.

30-year-old Leandra Lynn Newman of Regina is charged with smoke in an aircraft lavatory and failing to comply with instructions given by the cabin crew.

Newman will make her first court appearance on April 13th.
