PENTICTON – A failed smash-and-grab at a Penticton jewellery store has earned a local man an eight month jail sentence.
Civilian witnesses tackled and held Devon Eric Brazeau until police arrived after he smashed a window at Paris Jewellers at the Cherry Lane shopping mall on January 29th.

Brazeau, 26, pleaded guilty to attempted theft and two counts of breaching probation.
Along with the jail term, Brazeau was sentenced to 18 months probation and must pay $224 for the broken window and $400 in Victim Surcharge fees.
