REGINA – Two people are facing charges after a police officer was injured in an attempted arrest.

On Thursday afternoon police identified a man who was the subject of an arrest warrant and when officers attempted to arrest the adult man, he fled on foot. The individual then jumped into the passenger seat of a vehicle, which fled.

A Regina Police officer was struck in the leg by the open door of the moving vehicle and the officer was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect’s vehicle was located immediately afterwards at the Regent Park Shopping Centre. The man police were attempting to arrest was located inside a business and the driver of the vehicle was located in another. Both were arrested without incident and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
