Police arrest 3 after armed robbery at Saskatoon convenience store

SASKATOON – Three people are in custody following the armed robbery of a Saskatoon convenience store Tuesday morning. Just before 6 a.m. CT, officers were called to the business in the 700-block of Central Avenue in the Sutherland neighbourhood.

An employees told officers that two men wearing masks threatened him with a knife and a club and damaged items in the store. They then fled with cash and cigarettes.

No physical injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation, police conducted a traffic stop at McKercher Drive and Taylor Street. Two boys, both 17, and a 19-year-old Saskatoon woman were arrested in connection with the robbery.

One boy, who is from Borden, is facing six charges including robbery with violence, wearing a disguise, mischief under $5,000, uttering threats and two counts of possessing a weapon. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants.

Charges against the other boy, who is from from Prince Albert, include robbery with violence and wearing a disguise.

The woman is charged with being a party to the offence of robbery.
