EDMONTON – An eight-year-old boy was sent to hospital with serious injuries Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in north Edmonton.
Police said the boy was struck by a red car driven by an 81-year-old woman while walking in a crosswalk in the area of 122 Avenue and 89 Street. It happened at around 8:30 a.m. in front of Delton Elementary School.

The boy was taken to hospital in serious, but stable condition.
Charges are pending against the senior, police said.
The roadway was blocked off for several hours Tuesday morning and was reopened shortly before noon.
