Driver loses control, flips vehicle in Summerland

SUMMERLAND — A single-vehicle accident in Summerland Monday morning has left a teenager with minor injuries after she lost control of the the vehicle she was driving off Highway 97.

It happened shortly before 8 a.m. near Arkell Road.

Police say the 17-year-old female was driving southbound in a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick when her vehicle lost control on gravel and flipped on to its side.

Cpl. Bruce Haley with Summerland RCMP says speeding is what caused the young woman to lose control.

He says she suffered minor injuries and there was minimal damage to the vehicle.
