Prince Albert police seize sawed-off shotgun, charge man

A 21-year-old man is facing numerous firearm-related charges after a report of a gunshot Friday in Prince Albert, Sask. Police were called to an alley in the 400-block of 13th Street West at 2:45 a.m. CT.

Officers heard that a man and woman were seen running from the same location.

Police responded to the area, located the two suspects and arrested them. A sawed-off shotgun was located in the area of the arrest.

No injuries were reported.

The man has been charged with such offences as careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, discharging a firearm and possession of stolen property.

He’s expected to make his first court appearance Thursday in Prince Albert provincial court.
