Seven people are facing charges following a drug raid in Medicine Hat.
Officers searched two homes on Ranchland Boulevard N.E. and Somerset Lane on Feb. 13, following the conclusion of a three-month-long investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT).
Among the items seized during the search were two SKS carbine rifles, thousands of rounds of ammunition and a loaded 25-round magazine.

“Both firearms were recently acquired through fraudulent means and one of the rifles already had its serial number defaced,” ALERT said in a news release.
- 375 grams of cocaine
- 4 grams of heroin
- 40 hydromorphine pills
- 1 fentanyl pill
- 20 grams of cannabis resin
- 2 grams of psilocybin

Police laid a total of 41 drug and firearm offences against seven people, including:
- 21-year-old Dorian Bernhart
- 26-year-old Justin Tye
- 24-year-old Cole Lee
- 34-year-old Nathan Cooper
- 25-year-old Devin Petke
- 21-year-old Steven O’Nabigon
- 25-year-old Jamie Vorra
ALERT said additional charges and arrests are expected.
