KELOWNA–Kelowna has the highest population growth rate in Western Canada.
According to Stats Canada, the Okanagan city’s population grew by 3.1 per cent in 2014/2015.
Other Western Canadian cities also posted strong growth during the same period, including Calgary (+2.4 per cent), Edmonton (+2.4 per cent) and Saskatoon (+2.0 per cent).
In most Canadian cities, interprovincial migration was zero or negative in 2014/2015, but Kelowna also bucked that trend, posting the highest growth rate in Canada, at one per cent.
