Environment Canada has issued a blizzard warning for most of Nova Scotia for Monday night.
In the Halifax-area, snowfall totals could reach 25 cm. The snow combined with high winds is expected to reduce visibility and lead to “hazardous” travel conditions, the weather forecaster said.
Snow in Nova Scotia will begin around noon Monday in southwestern parts of the province and then move east throughout the day.
Another system is expected to effect southeastern parts of New Brunswick on Monday. Snowfall totals could reach 15 cm by Tuesday morning in parts of New Brunswick and PEI.
Maritimes recover after Friday storm
Monday’s storm comes on the heels of a storm on Friday that left heavy snow in New Brunswick and high rainfall totals in Nova Scotia.
According to Environment Canada, Moncton had the biggest snowfall total at 38 cm, followed by Boutouche at 37 cm.
In Nova Scotia, rainfall at the Halifax airport totaled 41 mm and in Hammonds Plains it rained 59 mm on Friday.
