Council approved a 7-year, $25.5-million curbside recycling contract with Loraas Industries on May 14th.

On Monday, council will be asked to consider five options for city recycling programs for multi-unit dwellings (MUDs) in Saskatoon.

The MUD recycling program options include; city-wide recycling with mandatory payment, city-managed voluntary recycling, mandated recycling, consolidated waste and recycling services or encouraged recycling with no mandate.

According to the general manager of the Utility Services Department, the total of all recyclables expected to be available from MUDs is between 3-thousand and 3.5-thousand tonnes.
