2 people sent to hospital after criminal flight, serious collision in north Edmonton

EDMONTON – Police noticed a car driving without headlights on just after 5 a.m. Friday so officers tried to stop the driver in the area of 111 Avenue and 57 Street.

Police said the car sped up and drove away from officers. EPS did not pursue it.

A short time later, near 112 Avenue and 51 Street, the car crashed into a house.

A section of the road was blocked off with police tape and paramedics and police responded to the scene.

A red car with heavy damage could be seen at the intersection. Two people – the driver and passenger – were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The car hit a house, but police said the house doesn’t seem to have been damaged.
