WINNIPEG – A woodchuck known for weather forecasting has died just days before she was set to make her Groundhog Day prediction.
Winnipeg Willow unexpectedly died on Friday at the age of five, read a post on the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre’s Facebook page.

“We loved trying to predict the upcoming forecast and I think we only got one season right,” the post continued.
Based on the 5-year-old woodchuck’s recent behaviour, the Centre was going to predict an early this spring this year.
