SASKATOON – With all of the legal slashing and cross checking that takes place in the sport of lacrosse, you’d think the players would wear a ton of protective equipment. But it turns out that most players forgo the extra padding to enhance their mobility on the floor.

Global Saskatoon’s sports director Jack Haskins examines the gear that players in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) wear, in this edition of “Lacrosse 101.”

Professional lacrosse defenseman Ryan Dilks with the Saskatchewan Rush takes Haskins through what players us to protect themselves, or don’t.

The Rush host the Colorado Mammoth at 7:30 p.m. CT Friday at SaskTel Centre.
