Three Manitobans get call for Senior National Men’s Soccer Camp

WINNIPEG — Three Manitoba soccer players are among the 23 players that will attend the Senior National Team Camp.

Tyson Farago, Marco Bustos and Kianz Froese will all get a chance to play for their country in an international friendly match against the U.S.A.

The camp begins on January 25 in San Diego, California and includes the friendly on February 5 at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Farago, 24, played all of his youth soccer in Manitoba including a two year stint with WSA Winnipeg. He now plays for Edmonton FC. The goalkeeper is getting his first opportunity to join the national team program.

“I am very excited to have been selected for this team Canada Camp.” Farago said through a media release. “It has always been a dream of mine to represent my country. It is a huge honor.”

Froese and Bustos are both just 19-years-old and are the youngest players on the squad. Both play for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC and made their international debuts in 2015.

The match against the U.S.A. will help prepare Canada for two upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in March.
