WINNIPEG – The Bram sisters are a step closer to wearing the maple leaf together at the Women’s World Championship.

Bailey and Shelby Bram of Ste. Anne’s were among four Manitobans chosen for Canada’s National Women’s team training camp.

Bailey, 25, has appeared in the last three World Championships for Canada while Shelby, 22, is looking to crack the roster for the first time.

Mallard’s Brigette Lacquette and St. Anne’s Jocelyne Larocque are also attending the camp. Winnipeg’s Jenelle Kohanchuk was invited but according to Hockey Canada is unable to attend.

The coaching staff also has plenty of Manitoba flavour with Winnipeg’s Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Pilot Mound’s Delaney Collins both serving as assistant coaches.

32 players will attend the camp from January 25-29 in Etobicoke as Hockey Canada selects the team for the upcoming Women’s World Championship. This years tournament is in Kamloops, B.C., from March 28 to April 4.
