A huge cloud of black smoke could be seen above the North Shore and Vancouver Thursday evening after an incident with a BBQ and a propane tank sparked a fire on North Vancouver’s Norwood Avenue.
North Vancouver District Fire rushed to the scene. There was some concern the fire might spread to the surrounding forest area, but firefighters got there in time.

The home is completely destroyed.
One man has been taken to hospital with burns to his hands.
