KELOWNA — Kelowna RCMP say they’re concerned about the wellbeing of a motorist who was involved in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.
The incident happened on Gordon Drive near Raymer Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m.
A passerby saw a white pickup truck with significant front-end damage from hitting a utility pole, knocking out the street lights.
RCMP say the driver’s behaviour was erratic when he spoke with a witness.
“The witness spoke with the driver who claimed he was fine but then ran away from the scene,” says Cpl. Joe Duncan. “The driver returned to the scene a short time later and yelled at the witness and ran off again towards the Okanagan college.”
A police dog was called to the scene to help track down the driver but couldn’t find him.
Kelowna RCMP are concerned for the driver’s well-being and are requesting the driver to contact police.
