WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets have not handled adversity very well this season with the frustration reaching a boiling point in Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks. It was the third straight loss for the Jets who seem to be playing with no sense of urgency and on Wednesday Jets forward Blake Wheeler called out his teammates.
“We’re playing like nothing has gone our way this year, we’re playing like we’re frustrated and like we’re feeling sorry for ourselves a little bit,” Wheeler said. “I don’t think we’re where we need to be you know from an emotional stand point. I just don’t think that there’s enough of an investment from everyone to get to where we need to go. So you’re follow up question is going to be how do we get that? That’s the million dollar question. How do we get 20 plus individuals to buy into the same thing and spilling everything they have every night into it.”
The Jets are preparing to face the Nashville Predators on Thursday to close out the three game homestand. The Preds currently sit in that final playoff spot just four points ahead of the Jets.

“Do we need to get Doctor Phil in here is that what you’re asking?” Wheeler said. “I don’t know. We got some pretty important games coming up. I think there needs to be an investment in one another…How you get to that? I don’t know if sitting in a circle and singing songs is going to do that, do the trick.”
