Two people charged after armed robbery in Yorkton, Sask.

YORKTON, Sask. – A second suspect has been arrested following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Yorkton, Sask.

At approximately 3 a.m. on Dec. 17, Mounties say two suspects with covered faces entered the Mac’s Convenience Store on Smith Street East in Yorkton, Sask.

One suspect had a knife and both threatened the employee of the store. They then stole cash, food, and cigarettes before fleeing.

Yorkton Municipal RCMP and the Yorkton General Investigation Unit investigated the robbery.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Offence, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Failing to Comply with a Youth Sentence Order.

He is in custody and will appear in Yorkton Youth Court on Jan. 22.

On Jan. 13, RCMP in Swan River, Man. arrested 19-year-old James Reynold Brow in connection with the robbery. He has been transported back to Yorkton and charged with Robbery with a Weapon, Wearing a Disguise With the Intent to Commit an Offence and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Brow is also in custody and will appear in Yorkton Provincial Court on Jan. 28.
