The driver stayed on scene, and there is no word if speed or weather were factors.
It happened just two hours after a pedestrian was struck in Burnaby. Just before two, a 70-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk when he was hit by a vehicle exiting the underground parkade of the Burnaby Public Library.
The elderly man was pinned under the car and crews used jacks to free him. He was rushed to hospital in grave condition. That driver also stayed on scene.
