Police blocked off a section of 9 Street S.W. south of 5 Avenue while Enmax crews worked to repair the problem.

A spokesperson for the electrical utility said crews had to shut down power to an office building near the transformer for about half an hour so they could repair the transfer.

The incident caused no lasting disruption to power and no one was hurt in the incident.
