If you’re looking to plan a trip to one of the country’s best-loved campgrounds or historic sites, and you want to secure the perfect spot months in advance, Parks Canada’s announcement it will open reservations early should help with your itinerary.
In an effort to make planning easier, Parks Canada will open reservations starting in January. The earliest is Jan. 5 in some British Columbia sites, followed by Alberta’s Jasper National Park Jan. 13. The 2016 and 2017 reservation options and operating dates will be posted here as they become available.

Reservations are already open (where applicable) for visits anytime up until March 2016.
“Whether it be a fully-serviced campsite, roofed accommodation, an interpretive guided hike or a remote backcountry experience, visitors can plan their experience with confidence and travel at ease, with the peace of mind of a guaranteed place at their favourite location,” Parks Canada said of its 27 national parks across Canada. The organization said close to 20 million visitors have travelled to its 44 national parks and 168 national historic sites across Canada as of September 2015, an increase of five per cent since the previous year.
