Five arrested in connection to Montreal armoured truck robberies

MONTREAL – Police have confirmed that five people were arrested in connection with a string of armoured truck robberies that have occurred around the city since 1999.

Montreal police worked with the Sûreté du Québec, Ottawa police and several other municipal forces on the investigation.

Walter Butt, 54; Paul Thomas Bryntwick, 64; David Stachula, 47; Serge Fournier, 64 and Gary Marsden, 63, will appear at the Montreal courthouse Wednesday.

They face more than sixty charges including robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, kidnapping, forcible confinement, using a firearm and breaking and entering.
