Mother of missing Saskatoon woman losing hope

SASKATOON – Despite the help of a volunteer search party, a 51-year-old Saskatoon woman remains missing. Sheree Fertuck was last seen Dec. 7 leaving her family farm east of Kenaston, Sask.

Her mother, Juliann Sorotski, said she’s not confident the disappearance will end positively, stating “she’s not going to be found alive … it’s been too long.”

However, Sorotski added there’s still a glimmer of hope Fertuck will be located safely.

Over the past two days, volunteers have scoured the area near the farm, along with a gravel pit where Fertuck’s semi-truck was found the day after she went missing.

Flyers have been handed out around Kenaston and neighbours have been asked to check their properties for signs of abnormal activity.

An RCMP investigation has determined the disappearance is suspicious, considering Fertuck is a person of habit who typically stays in contact with family members.

Fertuck is described as five-foot four, 250 pounds with greying brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing grey sweat pants, a grey sweater and white running shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 306-975-5145 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
