A 35-year-old pizza delivery driver is recovering from serious injuries after he was attacked on the job Monday night.
Police say the man was making a delivery just before midnight to an address on Westminster Avenue West in Penticton when he was violently attacked by a customer wielding a box cutter. He was able to flee to his car and drive himself to hospital.
“The man arrived [to hospital] suffering knife wounds to his face and was bleeding severely,” said Penticton RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth. “He suffered lacerations to his face and hands from defending himself.”
The victim received stitches and has since been released from hospital.

Police have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with the attack. He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

RCMP believe this is an isolated incident.
“There’s no history of this happening to delivery people [in Penticton]” said Wrigglesworth.
Police did not have any further details on the accused attacker and if he has a criminal history.
