MONTREAL – A 27-year-old man is in stable condition in hospital after a high-speed single car accident on the westbound 20 service road.
It happened around 1:40 a.m. near 1st Avenue in Lachine.
The driver of a speeding car lost control of his vehicle, hitting a lamppost and then colliding into a tree.
The car was cut in half.
The man was later was found by police wandering along the highway.
“The driver was transported to hospital. He was concious at the time,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant, with Montreal police.
“We don’t fear for his life.”
Police blame the accident on excessive speed.
